Diageo India has announced the appointment of Shilpa Vaid as Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO). She will be reporting to MD & CEO of the company. In her new role, Shilpa will be responsible for the entire people function of the company Indian business.
The development was confirmed by the company through a social media Post, wherein it said “We are pleased to announce Shilpa Vaid as our new Chief Human Resources Officer. She will help drive the inclusive & unsurpassed culture at Diageo India by honing talent & enhancing organizational capabilities.”
Prior to this appointment, Shilpa was associated with Mondelēz International as BU People Lead, India for more than a year.
With over 20 years of rich professional experience across consulting, insurance, retail and e-commerce industries, Shilpa has led the HR function for organizations with varied business contexts including significant expansion & growth, restructuring, and transformation on account of pivoting of business focus & preparing for listing on the stock exchange.
In addition to Country HR Leader roles, Shilpa has worked in Global & Asia Talent Management leader roles with a specific focus on designing & deploying talent management, performance management & executive development programs across countries; transferring & building SME capability to the in – country talent teams and developing a leadership pipeline for Regional & Country leadership roles.
Her distinctive competencies include working backwards from the business to design & deliver people programs & practices that have tangible impact; driving and facilitating change in multiple business contexts; organization design & restructuring to support business objectives; strengthening organizational capability & developing leaders; and building customer focused & high-performance HR teams.
Shilpa has worked with Prione Business Services Pvt. Ltd. (“Prione”), Arvind Fashions Limited, Bharti AXA General Insurance, MetLife, ABN AMRO Bank N.V., ICICI Prudential Life Insurance, Aviva India and E&Y.
