Navin Upadhyaya is an experienced Director Human Resources with a demonstrated history of working in the financial industry, 19+ years of experience at both strategic & operational level & has been in the capacity of HR Head for 10 years., Navin Upadhyaya has joined IIFL Wealth & Asset Management as Chief Human Resources Officer. Prior to this appointment Navin Upadhyaya was with Citi as Director HR – Institutional Clients Group – South Asia & Head of HR Sri Lanka and Bangaldesh for about 13 years. He has also worked with Standard Chartered Bank and Blue Dart.
His competencies includes developing talent, He engages, inspires and navigates network to achieve common goal and has expertise in managing ambiguity and conflict. His traits are Social Leadership, Energy, Agility and his drivers are balance and collaboration.
He has expertise in HR advisory, Managing a large HR team, Global and Country Stakeholders including experience in the domain of Talent acquisition, development and management, Employee Engagement, employee relation, compensation and diversity.
At Citi, As Director and Head of Human Resources for Institutional Client Group (ICG) for India, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka, He coached and collaborated with Senior Leadership team in ensuring a robust Succession Plan and in embedding Citi culture that promotes engagement, ethical conduct and Best in class standards of people practice. In this role he also had HR management responsibilities of India Sub continent countries (Sri Lanka & Bangladesh).
He has been a founding member of Citi corp Services India Private Limited and established it’s Management structure, policies, People Practises. This firm has presence in 5 strategic locations with a strength of 11,000 employees in the area of Technology, Analytics and Banking Operations. Additionally he also lead human resources function for South Asia O&T.
In addition to these roles he was HR Head of NBFC’s business/ Legal Entities and Citi holdings ( Divested business line ) for Citi in India. Prior to Citi, he was with IDBI Bank, Standard Chartered and Blue Dart Fedex.
He has overall HR management and advisory experience covering Institutional & Retail Banking, NBFC’s, Technology, Operation and Analytics functions with growing business line and restructured business line.
