Managers will be assessed and developed around people and performance oriented competencies which will revolve around motivational, technological, communication, social intelligence, collaborative, emotional, economic, and digital agility. These competencies will drive the business of new age organisation.

Do you think that Business Organisations now look for certain new competencies for managers? If so, what is your perspective in this respect?

RS At the outset, I would like to briefly describe as how the work and technology have evolved over a period of time through systematic interventions. There have been revolutionary changes underway. For example, If the steam engine, electricity, and information technology, powered the first, second and third industrial revolutions respectively, artificial intelligence powers the fourth reducing the boundary between the physical world and the virtual one. According to a source, the technologies that enable Industry 4.0 include smart sensors, automation devices, advanced robots, Internet of Things (IoT), cloud computing, location detection technologies, human-machine interfaces, augmented reality, 3D printing, artificial intelligence (AI), big data analytics, and mobile devices, among others. The power of Industry 4.0 lies in technological convergence.
