How do you envision Humanising the workplace?

SC Everyone expects to be treated with certain basic human values such as dignity, trust, respect, equity and freedom of expression. Sometimes these are explicit but mostly remain implicit. Employees leave when they experience that manager or the organisation don’t treat them with respect and dignity. Employee productivity drops when workplace lacks trust and democracy.

We are all familiar with the Maslow’s hierarchy of human needs – physiological needs, safety, belonging, esteem and self-actualisation. These are equally applicable in personal settings as well as work spaces. Lot of research and work has happened on engaging and motivating employees at work by using Maslow’s hierarchy.

Indian constitution and statutory framework have enshrined certain rights for every employee such as freedom to organise, employee participation, employee consultation, right to workplace health & safety etc.
