Moral policing at workplace is not desirable
When companies have strict regulations against personal relationships, it can deter employees, but not completely dissuade them. As a result, we will have people going to inordinate lengths to be secretive about their relationships, causing far more distractions than if they did not have to hide anything.

Do you think that with the rise of diversity and Inclusion at workplace, there is also rise in workplace romance in organisations? If that is so, how do you view this phenomenon?

PB I was reading a Mckinsey paper recently that spoke about social capital and its impact at workplaces. As per the article, “social capital is the presence of networks, relationships, and connections within any organization or, more broadly, community or culture.” We may have all observed that the level of connections and engagement at work have direct corelation to openness, learning, productivity, and end of the game, retention of high talent.

The covid climate had thrown a dark cloud on the reach and quality of personal connects and informal coffee conversations. However, in the recent months, there has been an unprecedented rise in people being back in the offices and trying to either pick up from where they left their work relationships or forge new connections.
