How do you evaluate the contribution and relevance of HR function in present Business scenario? Is it staying ahead or lagging behind?

RP Well, I believe that the role of HR has completely transformed over the last few decades. HR is the culture-builder, ergo, the nerve centre of any Organisation. This reminds me of a quote by Peter Ducker in which he says “culture eats strategy for breakfast” precisely implying that a misaligned culture can altogether impede the performance of an organisation, whereas an organisation with positive work culture and motivated workforce is likely to experience gargantuan growth even with a rudimentary strategy. Be it buying/building talent, ensuring their retention by offering them world-class compensation & benefits, augmenting their growth through L&D and capability building interventions, HR is integrated into strategic planning process and cuts across all the Functions of an Organisation.
