Industrial relations are seen as relationships between employees and employers within the organisational settings. The field of industrial relations looks at the relationship between management and workers, particularly group of workers represented by a union. Industrial relations are a dynamic socio-economic process. It has two faces like a coin. “Conflict” and “Cooperation”. Relationship starting with cooperation sometimes changes into conflict and after its resolution again changes into cooperation. This changing process is a continuous feature. The relationship between union and management is based on mutual adjustments on interests and goals. It depends on economic, social and psychological satisfaction of the parties. To keep harmonious Union management relations, it is essential that both union and management work jointly towards formation of people related policies. During the formulation of such policies both the parties may need to adjust their respective interests and goals and arrive at a consensus resulting into satisfaction followed by a healthy mutual relationship.
