On June 27, 2025, the Government of Madhya Pradesh permitted the employment of women workers between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. in the factories under the Factories Act and shops and commercial establishments under Shops Act( 9 PM to 7AM) with obtaining written consent from women employees before employing in night shift and ensuring their employment in a batch of not less than 5 and strict compliance with the Maternity Act and PoSH Act. Additional safeguards include providing safe transportation, secure and hygienic working conditions, CCTV surveillance, women guards at entry/exit points, boarding and lodging controlled by female supervisors, at least one-third female supervisors during night shifts, and a 12-hour shift gap when employed in rotational shifts.
