Time for HR Demonetization?
Like old currency, overnight, our skills can also fade into oblivion and can make us redundant. Who does not remember the book-keeping days before Book-keeping made them redundant? Or employee rolodexes before databases took over?

Sometimes, in our lives, serendipity hits us out of nowhere, and two totally unrelated things can synergize beautifully to perform a perfect pattern. On the one hand, I was busy reading ‘The Future of HR’ and on the other, my daughter’s wish to keep two now-obsolete notes (one each) of Rs.500 & Rs.1000 as a token of India’s historical demonetization move, made me ponder on the momentous events our country’s economy is going through at present – demonetization of high value currency denomination notes for ‘The Future of India’. (A matter of conjecture, perhaps). But can there really be a correlation between things as disparate as HR and Demonetization, given that other countries are also following suit? This is again a subject of our perspectives, and if we take a moment to evaluate the purpose of demonetization, there can be striking parallels in both of these entirely different phenomena. My quick thoughts on this:
