Artificial intelligence is already on the verge of transforming the world of work, as the world progresses towards automation. Thanks to complex virtual learning techniques, machines are now able to perform a wide range of physical and cognitive tasks. And the efficiency and accuracy of their work is expected to increase as AI systems advance through machine learning, big data and increased computational power, impacting greatly on job prospect and talent search. There's a common misconception that the advent of new technology strips many people of their livelihoods. In actuality, this kind of technological automation improves the society as a whole and raises the nation's standard of living. Here are a few ways on how AI is making an impact in employment sector:
Spotting the best candidates
Organization using AI for personnel management, are in plans implementing its properties to help them find the best candidates for jobs. Such software often works in one of two ways: spotting the most promising resumes among what may be an unmanageable deluge, or widening the net so employers can find a more diverse pool of candidates than they would select on their own. They use specific matrices and comparative analysis to cull out candidates who seem to be the most opportune fit for the job. From scourging through the endless list to cherry picking the best, AI aids organizations in comparing the rate of efficiencies of different candidates, before even being hired.
Tracking what workers do at their desks
Now, one can keep an eye over employee performance too. Post having hired ideal candidates, artificial intelligence can help managers measure productivity by tracking how employees handle various aspects of their jobs - especially their computer activities. The software can be encrypted in such a way that it logs everything done on a computer, taking periodic screenshots, storing it all for 30 days on a customer's server to ensure privacy. Then, an artificial - intelligence system determines a touch base for company's activities and searches for incongruities contributing to poor productivity. Customers can set activities and thresholds that will trigger an alert and if the software detects anything suspicious, it notifies management. This helps in singling out the problem areas and helping employees in overcoming it.
A question of feelings
AI is also aiding managers to peer into personal aspects of job performance, to grasp their level to efficiency. AI analyzes email and other messages, looking at words and phrases employees use, scoring these expressions for positive or negative sentiment. This helps in supervising individual as well as group morale. It can detect any change in tone or a shift in relation to a group of employees, eliminates the chances of a potential conflict.
Keeping top performers on board
As an ambitious concept, AI aims to predict when employees may be winding down their career at the company - and provides solutions on how to retain them. The system looks for patterns identified by own matrices to predict when workers are likely to jump ship. It calculates a risk score for individual employees based on roughly 60 factors including the job title, compensation, time off and time between promotions. The software also feeds suggestions on immediate steps, based on what other people in similar situations have done, urging managers in moving proactively to retain valuable workers. The retention - risk score is best thought of preventing loss of manpower as it helps in increasing employee loyalty and separating good apples from the bad.
The base of the matter is that we live in a man - made world, where everything is under the jurisdiction of our creative space. Our characteristic of being innately self - serving creatures would never let anything, technology or otherwise, turn us into secondary citizens within our fruits of labour. So , even if it is true that machines will probably take over most of the jobs as, in the coming years, it is also safe to assume that new job opportunities will spring up, making up for the lost livelihood. It is a symbiotic relationship that we cherish to maintain, through the correct use of intelligence, paired with man - made advancements to create a hospitable environment for our progenies to thrive.
