First convocation of SVVV held

The First Convocation of Shri Vaishnav Vidyapeeth Vishwavidyalaya (SVVV) was organized in its premises on 9th June 2018. The Chief Guest of the Convocation was Her Excellency Smt. Anadiben Patel, Governor - Madhya Pradesh. In this Convocation, a total number of 55 students of Ph.D., M.Sc. MBA and M.Tech were awarded degrees. Apart from these, five Gold Medals were also awarded to toppers of various programs, including overall toppers amongst Boys as well as Girls.
In his welcome address, Chancellor of the University Shri Purushottamdas Pasari congratulated the students and introduced the glorious history of Shri Vaishnav Trust. He emphasized on offering quality education as a commitment to society. Dr. Upinder Dhar, Vice Chancellor, SVVV presented the details of the University achievements and activities that were organized by the students and for the students to facilitate the development of planning organizing and leadership skills amongst the students. 
Dr. Dhar said that all possible efforts are made to ensure that quality education is offered by regular updation of syllabi and curricula by the subject experts from Indian Institute of Science - Bangalore, IITs, IIMs, NITs and representatives of industry. He added that faculty development was responsibility of the university. Thus, faculty members were encouraged to attend various programs organized by well known institutions in the country and abroad. The university had sponsored the faculty to attend the conferences in Maldives, Thailand, United Kingdom and Romania in the last one year. 
Eminent nuclear scientist Padma Vibhushan Dr. Anil Kakodkar, space scientist Padma Bhushan Dr. K. Radhakrishnan, well known scientist Padma Vibhushan Dr. R.A. Mashelkar, Chairman of Jaipur Foot Padma Bhushan Dr. D.R. Mehta, besides ten Padma Awardees and more than 100 subject experts had visited the University for sharing their wisdom and experiences with the students and faculty.
In her speech, Her Excellency Smt. Anandiben Patel congratulated the students for receiving the degrees and asked the youth to come forward to remove superstitions and abuses in the society. Her Excellency also advised students to do research and study on functionality of developmental and welfare schemes initiated by the government so that ground reality could be ascertained. Her Excellency congratulated the University on introducing innovative and employment oriented programs. 
Dr. Akhilesh Kumar Pandey, Chairman, MP Private University Regulatory Commission, Bhopal; Dr. Narendra Dhakad, Vice Chancellor, DAVV, Indore and Dr. Lata Agarwal, Nominee of the Government of Madhya Pradesh Higher Education Department were also present. The Convocation was attended by prominent dignitaries of the city along with parents of the students who were awarded degrees on this occasion.
