Event Report - SPANDAN-2018 - Techno Cultural Management Fest
Techno Cultural Management Fest "Spandan 2018" organized by Shri Vaishnav Vidyapeeth Vishwavidyalaya Indore was held from 22nd to 24th February 2018. The three - day fest was attended by more than five thousand students from across the country who participated in more than 64 different events, competitions and workshops.
The program commenced with the lighting of the lamp by Chief Guest Ms. Aryama Sanyal, Airport Director, Devi Ahilya Bai Holkar Airport, Indore. Coordinator of Spandan 2018, Dr. Rajeev Shukla introduced the Spandan 2018 and informed about the various events to be organized in this three day fest. In her address Ms. Aryama Sanyal advised the students to choose the career of their interest so that they would love to work for 24 hours. On this occasion Prof. Upinder Dhar, Vice Chancellor, Shri Vaishnav Vidyapeeth Vishwavidyalaya, addressed the audience and said that every moment we get an opportunity to learn and Spandan is the opportunity to learn with fun and unleash the potential. On this occasion folk singer Padmashree Mr. Prahlad Das Tipania was also present as a special guest. The inauguration ceremony ended with the vote of thanks by Ms. Isha Chopra.
The competitions like Navyata - Design a dress using newspaper, Card Making, Blogging/Vlogging, Doodle and Graffiti and The Editor - Make your own Magazine also attracted creative students. Workshops on Blogging/Vlogging and Fine Arts were also organized.
The main attraction of the evening was the Silent Disco. For the first time in Central India, the event 'Silent Disco' was organized in Spandan 2018. In 'Humour Fest' the comedians Mr. Aakash Mehta and Mr. Kautuk Shrivastava rolled the audience with their laughing strokes. A wonderful fashion show was organized in which the participants attracted the audience through their attire on different themes such as traditional, high school etc. On the second day, various competitions were also organized for the students and they exhibited their skills. The culinary skills and creativity was exhibited in the fireless cooking by teachers and students whereas the traditional rangoli spread the vibrant colours and social messages. The students showed their concern towards social evils such as drug abuse, smoking etc. and suggested solutions through their dramatic skills in Nukkad Natak. Workshops on photography, Skateboarding and play writing were also organized. Fun games remained the center of attraction for all the participants. The poetry recitation competition Kavyanjali provided the platform to the number of young poets.
The dancing talent was showcased by the participants in different genres in the dance competition-Taal. Twenty six participants representing various institutions showed their dancing talent in Indian classical, western dance forms. The rock band groups Dhaivat and Rooh Unplugged enticed the audience throughout the evening.
The Fine Art Marathon was focused on creativity and message. The colors, energy and creativity were reflected in these competitions. The Short Film and Documentary Making also attracted the students. The students enthusiastically participated in Treasure Hunt. A workshop on Film/TV/Play writing was also organized. The fun games continued to enthrall the students.
On third day, a Singing competition was organized. The students performed on classical, semi classical and bollywood songs. The last day came to an end with an amazing DJ night with Xenial Secret and Ritviz's captivating performances. Dr. Rajeev Shukla, Coordinator - Spandan 2018 said that these types of events provide the platform to students to showcase their talent and sharpen their skills. The event Spandan 2018 was diligently organized.
