Dr. Ankur Baruah has taken charge charge as Director (HR) of Oil India Limited.
Prior to this promotion, Dr. Ankur was functioning as Executive Director (HR) at OIL.
The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) had approved the appointment of Dr. Ankur Baruah as Director (HR) of OIL on April 15. His tenure will be effective from the date of assumption of charge until his superannuation on February 29, 2028, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
He brings with him over 30 years of rich professional leadership experience in HR within the oil and gas industry.
Dr. Baruah is an accomplished professional with an MBA in Human Resources and a PhD in Business Administration. Having accreditation in Psychometric Testing, he has underscored his expertise in both strategic planning and people development. Throughout his career, he has been instrumental in steering critical HR functions including manpower planning, talent acquisition, performance management, stakeholder engagement, and change management.
Recognized for his people-centric leadership style, Dr. Baruah has championed initiatives that have enhanced OIL’s reputation as a progressive and inclusive workplace. His strategic alignment of HR policies with business objectives has driven organisational growth and resilience, making OIL a benchmark for HR excellence in the energy sector.
