The Future of Work is Hybrid
With the outbreak of pandemic Covid-19, the entire work population moved away from the traditional work model to the new “Work From Home (WFH)” module by the fall of the night! However, it has gradually become evident in past one and a half years that this new work from home culture is here for the long haul. Covid-19 pandemic has hit the business hard and has led the companies and organizations to refocus and reshuffle their business strategies and policies as it is the utmost concern of the companies to ensure the safety of their employees. As a result, this new model of work has made a 360-degree change in the role of the office, learning, and leadership, and the work culture.
Initially, WFH was considered to be a temporary set-up only until the pandemic exists but now most of the organisations have a feeling otherwise. Though, most of the companies lacked the right policies and infrastructure to support the organisation’s work from home migration overnight. But once everything settled, it became pretty evident that in the new WFH module, employees were more productive and focussed than usual which established the fact that work from home works better than the regular work from office mode.
After a year and a half of the Pandemic outbreak, people have now become comfortable with the new working while staying at home mode where all the work is done in the comfort of your house without the pressure of wearing formals or getting into an in-person meeting. Work-life culture has evolved as the companies now are functioning mostly on video calls and online reports, sharing work via shared drives for documents unlike before. The biggest thing that has resulted from this work from home module is the trust of the team leaders and managers on their team to honestly perform their tasks without being constantly staying under their radar and yet the teams have over-achieved their targets.
It is not affirmative that all the companies in India will choose Work from Home as a permanent solution but there are high probabilities that WFH is going to become an essential trend in Human Resource Management in India which is considered to be a Hybrid Model of new-age working culture.

Work from Home can also be used as a mechanism by various organisations to retain their best talent even when the Pandemic recedes. It is possible only if the senior management might think about WFH for a long-term solution, giving their employees a more flexible of working from anywhere, it will motivate their employees to stay committed to the company and the employee would not look for an escape route.
Also, being an early bird and adapting the concept of WFH is going to help organisations to attract a lot of latent that traditionally would have turned the opportunity down due to the hassle of relocation and the cost of living in the new city. Talent acquisition should be the sole reason that the companies or organisations should and most probably will totally adapt the WFH concept with open arms even post-pandemic era.
