The biggest misconception about Company Culture is that it gets organically created, it's how it works for that business or industry and that nothing can be done about it.

Looking ahead, what cultural shifts do you believe will define the most successful organisations over the next 5-10 years?

SB: 1. Culture is a differentiator in the 21st century. Here is how I see a Culture shift in organisations that can leverage Culture as a Differentiator.

Ability to nurture and build Negative Capability in Leaders to drive Change and make Decisions in the context of uncertainties and ambiguities.

In a world of increasing uncertainty and turbulence, building negative capability for employees is key as it manifests as the ability to:

  • Resist premature conclusions when confronting complex problems;
  • Hold multiple, often contradictory perspectives simultaneously and do not get confused
  • Distinguish between productive discomfort and unproductive Panic
  • Leverage ambiguity as a catalyst for deeper understanding for problem solving
