On March 8, 2022, The Government of Andhra Pradesh has amended the Andhra Pradesh Factories Rules, 1950 to reduce compliance burden. Some of the notable amendments include (a) The installed power required for approval of a factory plan shall be thirty (erstwhile seventy five) horsepower or more; (b) Online notification of any change/amendment in maximum horse power installed, maximum number of employed, etc. through single desk portal; (c) The term for communicating approval plan has been made 7(seven) days from the date of submission of online application; (d) The manger of every factory shall submit integrated annual return online through single desk portal on or before 30th April of the year.
